The FirmTech MaxPR, a slimmer and snugger version of the Performance Ring

Who should choose the MaxPR?

Choose the FirmTech MaxPR if you want the tightest hold FirmTech makes. It is rated 5 of 5 for tightness and pleasure, against 3 of 5 for the Performance Ring, for fuller, firmer erections and more intense orgasms. The trade-off is wear time: up to 90 minutes, not 12 hours.

If you want a ring for long wear or overnight, choose the Performance Ring or the TechRing. Many men keep a MaxPR alongside the TechRing: the bundle is $295 instead of $335.

The MaxPR at a glance

What is the MaxPR?

The MaxPR is the original FirmTech doctor-designed shape, made slimmer and tighter for extra pressure. It loops around the base of the penis and behind the testicles, like the Performance Ring, so pressure is spread evenly, and it keeps the same hook-and-latch strap so you control the tension.

FirmTech built it in response to customers who wanted a snugger fit. It is made from medical-grade elastomer, phthalate- and latex-free, and is water resistant. Like every FirmTech ring it works without pills or a prescription and fits up to 5.5 inches (14 cm) of erect girth. Because it is the tightest ring, FirmTech limits safe wear to 90 minutes at a time.

How do I wear the MaxPR safely?

  1. Step 1: Open

Unhook the latch and open the loops.

  2. Step 2: Place

Loop it around the base of the penis and behind the testicles.

  3. Step 3: Adjust

Set the tension that feels right. Snug is the goal, pain is not.

  4. Step 4: Time it

Take it off within 90 minutes, and sooner if you feel numbness, tingling or coldness.

Common questions

Short answers here. All 49 questions are on the FirmTech erection ring FAQ.

What is the difference between the Performance Ring and MaxPR?
Both cost $60 and share the same doctor-designed, adjustable peno-scrotal shape. The MaxPR is slimmer and snugger: FirmTech rates its tightness 5 of 5, against 3 of 5 for the Performance Ring. The Performance Ring can be worn up to 12 hours, the MaxPR up to 90 minutes. More in the FAQ
How long can I wear an erection ring?
It depends on the ring. FirmTech lists safe wear times of up to 12 hours for the TechRing and Performance Ring, and up to 90 minutes for the MaxPR, its tightest ring. Generic rings often carry shorter limits, so always follow the maker's guidance for the ring you own. More in the FAQ
Is it safe to sleep in an erection ring?
Only in a ring designed for it. FirmTech says the TechRing is designed and studied for overnight wear and is comfortable for up to 12 hours. Do not sleep in a ring that is not meant for overnight use, including the MaxPR, which has a 90-minute limit. More in the FAQ
How tight should an erection ring be?
Snug, never painful. The ring should hold firm pressure at the base without pinching, numbness or color change. The adjustable strap on every FirmTech ring lets you set the tension, so loosen it or remove the ring if anything feels wrong. More in the FAQ
When should I take a ring off?
Take it off right away if you feel pain, numbness or tingling, or if the skin turns blue, pale or very cold. Those signs usually mean the ring is too tight or has been on too long. If symptoms do not settle quickly after removal, seek medical care. More in the FAQ
Should I buy two rings?
Many owners do. FirmTech bundles the TechRing with a Performance Ring or a MaxPR for $295 instead of $335, so you can track with the TechRing and keep a simple ring for nights when you just want the feel. More in the FAQ
Is there anything for my partner?
Yes. RingMate is a three-speed vibrator for her that slides onto any FirmTech ring. It costs $69 on its own, $120 bundled with a Performance Ring or MaxPR, or $304 bundled with the TechRing. More in the FAQ
